Once again, elections have been dominated by incumbents

Once again, elections have been dominated by incumbents.  As reported by Ballotpedia, in the elections held on November 7 in excess of 90% of the incumbents running for office were re-elected.  While there were no members of Congress up for re-election during this cycle, these results are consistent with past history, including the last Congressional elections in 2016 in which over 90 percent of the incumbents running were also elected.
